From Policy to Practice - Koshi River Basin Manangement
“From Policy to Practice” is a process documentation of WECS and WWF’s joint initiative for the first field piloting of IWRM approach as prioritized by the National Water Plan 2005 in Koshi River Basin, Nepal. This pictoral document explains our effort to translate policy into practice by showcasing Koshi River Basin Management Program as a model for conservation and wise use of water and its resources to secure life and livelihoods of generations to come.

The Baltic, one of the world's most stressed seas, faces uncontrolled growth in demands for space and resources over the next 20 years, according to WWF. The report Future Trends in the Baltic Sea shows for the first time a projection of trends and plans of all the sectors using the Baltic Sea over the next 20 years. The WWF report concludes that the only way to avoid chaos in the Baltic Sea is a more integrated approach to sea use management and suggests some concrete steps that should be taken.

WWF Brief: Finance from Aviation and Maritime sectors
'Bunker finance' – revenues from the international aviation and maritime sectors – attracted considerable attention at COP 15 in Copenhagen as a potential new source of climate change finance. This paper explains the different options for bunker finance, outlines the status of discussions in other fora, then assesses the options against the criteria published in the terms of reference for the AGF.It finds that bunker finance could be a valuable, reliable and equitable source of finance, and that a recommendation from the AGF would give a boost to discussions elsewhere, potentially securing a double dividend by also unlocking mitigation packages in two sectors that have so far escaped greenhouse gas regulation.
